Throughout this blog, I have analyzed several writings that make one point very clear: road safety is a major issue in this country. However, through several particular readings, it is possible to image how this problem could be remedied in the future. For example, Delhomme's article illustrates a step-by-step process for how to successfully construct any kind of campaign. Using the techniques and methods she lays out, one can apply the information from the Seattle White Paper article in order to make an effective campaign specifically for biking and road safety. The Seattle article provides several different safety campaigns that have been implemented across the nation. By analyzing all of these campaigns, one can compile all of the most useful information and plug it into the model set up by Delhomme.
After the campaign is set and evaluated, the members of the campaign committee can start to work to have the campaign implemented nationwide. This can be accomplished through Cialdini's methods of persuasion, reciprocation and consistency.
By looking at a structured sequence of events that could take place, we can begin to see how a road safety campaign could actually take form and become an effective reality. By looking at all of these articles from an overview standpoint, it is easy to see how they are all interconnected and how using them will allow road safety to become a national priority.
